Product Overview
WaterRower A1
The A1 meets the high standard of quality that you can expect from any WaterRower model. Each of our rowing machines has been hand finished with three coats of Danish Oil giving a deep lustre and warmth to the wood.
The WaterRower A1 is handcrafted in premium Ash hardwood with a sleek aluminum monorail design. It also features the A1 Monitor, so as to offer you an incomparable full-body workout.
The original
The WaterRower was invented by John Duke in 1988. The American rower developed the rowing machine’s easy function and timeless design from the basic idea, that dry land training should simulate the given conditions on water as closely as possible.
Timeless design
Timeless appeal and prestige: the WaterRower rowing machine received the PlusX Award for its unique design and was also the only piece of sports equipment on display at the Design Museum of London.
Rowing
A way of life
The WaterRower blends the tranquility of moving water, the warmth of wood, and the rhythm of motion. These qualities combine to provide a naturally pleasurable activity. Invigorating the body while relaxing the mind and involving little to no impact on the joints. Composed to capture the aesthetics of rowing, the WaterRower is enjoyable to use. The calming tones and smooth action encourages the user from stroke to stroke. The symphony of these elements engage the user with a satisfaction which should be experienced!
The perfect exercise
WaterRower Benefits
The rowing stroke uses 84% of the Muscle Mass and is able to burn over 1000 calories per hour. From the tips of the fingers holding the handle/oars, to the balls of the feet connected to the footboard/boat, all the muscles between these two points contribute to the rowing stroke.
There is no jerkiness or jarring which is often associated with conventional mechanical rowing machines making the exercise unpleasant; only smooth even load, kind to the body, and relaxing to the mind.
Water tank
The WaterRower’s resistance is generated in its unique water tank element. No manual adjustment is necessary to increase/decrease resistance, it precisely adjusts to the user’s movement and strength input.
High performance
The A1 Monitor can calculate and display important workout data, such as time, distance covered, intensity and strokes per minute.
Save space
In an upright position, the WaterRower occupies no more space than a chair. Its center of gravity lies at the water tank which enables you to lift it effortlessly at the rail-end. In any position, the water remains safely in the tank.
Durability
The extremely durable, rubber feet provide protection and skid resistance for all types of flooring. The frame is made of solid wood, capable of withstanding the toughest of workouts.
Convenience
The foot board offers the highest level of flexibility when in an optimal rowing position. The ergonomic foot pads and straps are both individually adjustable, guaranteeing maximum comfort.
Commitment to the environment
Environmental ethos
For 30 years our wooden machines have been handcrafted in the United States, using only verified sustainable hardwoods from the Appalachian region. Our goal is making rowing machines of superb quality and beautiful design, while keeping our commitment to protect the environment.
